During this period, the Qing Dynasty in China was known for its impressive "Imperial Workshops," where artisans and craftsmen created intricate porcelain, textiles, and paintings that fascinated Europeans. Meanwhile, in Japan, the art of woodblock printing, known as ukiyo-e, was flourishing, capturing scenes of landscapes, kabuki actors, and beautiful women that would later influence Western artists like Vincent van Gogh.
